Hi my name is Jiri Krejcir. I was born in Czechoslovakia, grew up in Sweden, and now live in Connecticut, US. I have always loved travel and have visited many places, especially in Europe but also elsewhere. This has been a big influence on my cooking.

When I moved to the US, I tried out a few fields of work and quickly discovered that my passion was cooking. Like many before me, I started as a dishwasher and worked my way up, learning from many chefs and cooks that I worked with in different restaurants.

Over the years I have worked in a number of restaurants in different positions, owned several restaurants, done catering, cooking classes, and produced content on the web. While discussing the past in cooking with friends who work in the field and feel the same passion about food and cooking, we discovered that it is usually a real live person who inspires you and drives you to recognize your passion, and I have a few.
